Registration
Confirmed against the professional body's own register, along with the expiry date. We record which body, which status, and the date we checked.
Qualifications
The course, the institution and the year, seen rather than taken on trust.
Indemnity insurance
Confirmed as current.
Supervision
Confirmed, because practising without it is a problem whatever the qualification says.
Identity
Confirmed, so the person on the profile is the person who holds the registration.
Re-checked every twelve months
The badge lapses on its own if the re-check does not happen. It does not sit there going stale.
What the badge is, and what it is not
Gototherapy Verified is our own check. It does not replace registration with a professional body, and we show you both separately on every profile. Conflating the two would be the most damaging thing this service could do, so we do not do it.
The check is also not the same for everybody. Some of the work people look for here sits outside the regulated professions, and where there is no register to check we say so on the profile rather than quietly showing the same badge.
Where the documents go
Documents sent for checking are never shown publicly and are never stored in our database. They go to private storage with no public access, the database holds only a note that the document exists and when it was seen, and every time a reviewer opens one it is recorded. Identity documents are deleted once the check is done.
